Conveniently located to serve Houston, Texas
A forehead lift is a cosmetic surgery done to eliminate excess fat, remove excess skin, and tighten sagging muscles in the forehead area. It is also known as a brow lift. With a forehead lift, Houston patients can address forehead wrinkles and sagging eyebrows.
Why Undergo a Forehead Lift?
Frown lines and creases caused by stress and muscle strain can make a person feel self-conscious about their appearance. Sagging brows can also create a persistent appearance of sleepiness or frustration. A brow lift can address these issues, helping patients look more youthful and alert.
Who Are the Best Candidates for a Forehead Lift?
A forehead lift is most beneficial to people in the 40-to-60 age range. Ideal candidates are physically healthy with no history of smoking. People who have developed wrinkles and frown lines on the forehead are the best candidates for this surgery.
A brow lift can also be done to help people who have inherited low heavy brows that lack definition. The procedure is suitable for you if you want to achieve a refreshed look.
The Forehead Lift Procedure
The forehead lift usually takes 1 to 3 hours. During the procedure, anesthesia will be given to promote comfort. Usually, either general anesthesia or a combination of sedation and local anesthesia will be used.
Dr Rich will create an ear-to-ear incision across the top of the head. This incision will allow Dr. Rich to carefully lift or maneuver the skin of the forehead and remove excess tissue. In some cases, a muscle realignment may be necessary during a forehead lift. The surgery is also an opportunity to place the eyebrows at a higher level and to trim excess skin.
Once the surgery is complete, Dr. Rich will either stitch or staple the incisions. The surgical site will be wrapped with sterile padding and bandages.
When Will I See Results?
The results of your forehead lift surgery will be visible once the post-surgical swelling resolves. Optimal results will be more apparent over the next few months. Satisfactory results are expected from your procedure, but it is not permanent, since the natural aging process will continue. A healthy lifestyle is encouraged to help extend the results of your forehead lift.
The Recovery Process
A good rest is encouraged during the first week after the procedure to ensure optimal healing. You will be allowed to take a shower two days following the surgery.
Most patients can return to their normal activities after 10 days of recovery, but vigorous exercise is discouraged for several weeks. Bruising and swelling are expected to fade within about three weeks.
How Much Does a Forehead Lift Cost?
The price of a forehead lift will not be covered by health insurance. The total cost is influenced by the surgeon’s fee, facility charges, anesthesia, medications, medical tests, and surgical garments.
