A Brow Lift Will Raise Your Drooping Brows
If we had a choice, a majority of us would choose to look young and beautiful for as long as we could. One of the most obvious signs of youth is smooth and youthful skin.
Unfortunately, as we age, the skin of our forehead droops and wrinkles start to appear. The worst part is that sometimes, these signs of aging appear even in our early thirties due to external factors like stress and exposure to toxins. The result is you looking much older than you actually are.
Fortunately, with a brow lift, we can get rid of age lines, tighten the skin of the forehead, and raise drooping eyebrows to achieve a more radiant and youthful look.
What Is a Brow Lift?
A brow lift is a surgical cosmetic procedure that can remove the unwanted creases on your forehead and correct your sagging eyebrows by lifting the skin on your forehead. It only takes around an hour or two to perform.
First, Dr. Hustak and Dr. Wentworth will administer general anesthesia to ensure that you are comfortable for the duration of the brow lift. She will then make an incision starting at one ear and reaching across the scalp to the other ear. This incision allows access to the underlying tissues.
After this incision has been carefully made, the excess skin that is causing the creases on your forehead will be removed. Muscle tissues will be removed or repositioned. The skin will be lifted and tightened, raising the brows to a more natural position.
Once the procedure is complete, the incisions will be closed with sutures or clips. Gauze will be placed over the area.
What Is the Recovery Process Like?
During the recovery period after a brow lift, it is critical that you follow instructions. Stitches will most likely be removed one or two weeks after surgery during a follow-up appointment. You will be able to continue with your daily routine about a week or two after surgery, including returning to work.
For a smooth and quick recovery, make sure to keep these tips in mind:
• Keep your head slightly elevated when sleeping for around two days. Use several pillows if required.
• You can only wash your hair after you remove bandages.
• It’s normal to experience swelling and bruising. Ice packs will help with these.
• Do not engage in strenuous physical activities like exercise or sports for several weeks after surgery.
Am I an Ideal Candidate?
If you have drooping eyebrows and loose forehead skin, this procedure may be right for you. Most patients who opt for a brow lift are 40 to 60 years of age, as this is when the creases and lines become most prominent. You must have realistic expectations from the surgery.
