Most people tend to overlook the importance of the breast implant recovery process and of post-operative care in general. However, this is perhaps the one aspect of the surgery that you, the patient, have the most control over and where you can make the most difference towards a successful and speedy recovery.

After surgery, you’ll be given the pain medication that was prescribed to you during pre-surgery. Breast implant recovery is generally an outpatient scenario, which means you are able to return home on the same day as your procedure.

Suture removal will occur approximately two weeks after surgery. The removal process is simple and is usually completed in a matter of minutes. Before patients resume more high-intensity activities, they are strongly advised to wait until Dr. Hustak and Dr. Wentworth assess the recovery progress during your first post-operative visit. Most of our patients are able to return to work within a week of surgery.
