A body lift surgery describes a combination of procedures designed to remove excess skin and fat from the abdomen, buttocks, groin, thighs, and back to enhance the body’s contours. A lower body lift specifically concentrates on the stomach, thighs, and rear. A body lift does not have to include all of these procedures, but it does have to involve more than just one.

Typical candidates for this procedure are those who have recently experienced a significant weight loss, thus resulting in large amounts of excess skin. Despite their weight loss, they may still have difficulty fitting into clothing because of the extra tissue left behind. Patients should only schedule a body lift surgery when their weight has stabilized.

Those planning on becoming pregnant should also hold off until after the pregnancy. This would allow for Dr. Hustak and Dr. Wentworth to correct any post-partum damage generated.
